As you guys might recall from earlier this summer I have been obsessing over slip dresses. Right as they rose up the ranks of fashion must haves last year is about the time my obsession began. While I’ve been loving wearing them as is, check out my slip dress collection here, the dropping temps are an open invitation to start layering. I’ve noticed that most people tend to layer their slip dresses over a long sleeve and while I don’t entirely hate the concept, it’s definitely not one I find myself doing often. Personally my go-to is to rock an oversized blazer which happens to be an on trend solution for slip dress layering this season. The reason I love reaching for a blazer is because it makes the outfit feel more sophisticated compared to layering a slip dress over a top. I also love that with the addition of a belt to cinch the waist it not only accentuates my figure but is an easy, and affordable, way to bring your favorite blazer into the new season. Per my usual I went for a tonal look pairing camel and rust with neutral animal print accessories which was my not so sneaky way of adding a few more trends without going over the top.  If you’re skeptical about layering a blazer over your slip dress I definitely recommend going the monochrome route. For my fellow pear shaped ladies find a blazer that goes past the widest part of your hips. Also consider rocking your blazer in a lighter color than your dress to help make your legs appear slimmer. My last tip is to wear some neutral sandals to give you some height while not cutting your legs in a way that makes you appear shorter.
