Nothing is more frustrating to me than when I hear that my client has found the perfect garment but only wears it 3 months out of the year.  People who do this spend their money unnecessarily on clothes for “specific seasons” thinking that they can’t be worn any other time of the year.  Can you say wardrobe disaster?  Not only does this mean their closet is filled with more clothes than they need, but with clothes that usually don’t work well with one another or get a lot of wear.  This is a big style no-no.

It’s important when purchasing clothes to keep versatility in mind.  Not only does that mean knowing how to wear a specific garment for more than one occasion, i.e. work to weekend, but also from season to season.  In order to have an endless wardrobe, you have to a variety of versatile garments.  You don’t want “seasonal” pieces but pieces that you can transition year round, like this shirt dress.  Don’t waste money on items you believe can only be worn certain times of the year, instead invest in clothes that easily mix ad match with what you own and from season to season.  See how else I’ve styled this shirt dress!

Comment below and tell me: Do you struggle to transition your shirt dress in fall?
