Pink & White
Are you pretty much done with winter because I’m ready for warmer weather. Like I don’t mind the snow, but I’m so over the sub-zero temps. It makes it hard to pick anything decent to wear. Recently with all the snow and cold I’ve been reaching for the same dusty sweats, throwing on my down coat and end up leaving the house looking like a marshmallow. I’m ready to not need so many layers just to go outside, to have more sunny days and actually feel the sun warm up my skin! Sadly girl we’re still a month away from Spring but to help lift the mood until then I’ve been reaching for colors when I actually have some place to go. If you’ve been wanting to wear color but like timeless looks then I have a classic color combo that never gets old, pink and white. On the surface it’s bright and feminine and something anyone can rock but I have some some super simple ways to help you make this color block outfit stand out from the crowd because I know that you’re like me and want to add you own unique flair while still looking timeless.
Why the Look Works
Let me tell you how you can make this spring color combo work for you! The key here is to nail your proportions, and by that I mean where your pieces start and stop. For a more unique look reach for white leather pants instead of some jeans then pair them with some matching ankle boots. By pairing your pants and shoes in the same color without showing any skin you make your legs look crazy long. Plus the double leather is unexpected yet looks pretty badass. Next find a cropped sweater that stops at just the right length so your waist is highlighted. If you have a longer sweater you could front tuck it in for the same effect or leave it out if you want to minimize your hips. Lastly layering with a long coat will give the outfit some polish while making you look slim. Longer coats hide help mask how wide your hips really are. If you want show off your hips swap out the long coat for a crop style. Playing with different textures will help your personality show through! To look tough think harsher materials like leather or denim, for softer vibes thing faux fur and knits. Mixing helps to add interest to your look and really helps you stand out. In case you’re unsure where to wear this outfit to you could easily rock it to a dinner date, walking around the mall with your girls or to the coffee shop to read a book and sip your favorite drink!
