When it’s hot and muggy outside, getting dressed for work can be more of a drag than Monday mornings. You have to strategically decide how to beat the heat while finding a way to deal with the dreaded office AC, that always seems to be entirely too cold, all while looking professional. For me this means introducing breathable materials and fresh takes on a classic silhouettes to spice up my work wear while dressing for the weather.
When looking to add items of interest to your work wardrobe it’s important to consider the following:
- Comfort. As I’ve said time and time again, comfort is king! If you’re not comfortable it will show.
- Functionality. Make sure these garments are more than just a piece of flair, they need to be able to withstand everyday tasks you face at work.
- Versatility. Ideally you should be able to come up with 3 outfit ideas for any new garment you plan to add. Bonus points if you can transition it from season to season and from day to night!
As I tell my clients again and again, work wear doesn’t have to be boring! The key is to identify what works not only for your body, but lifestyle as well.

Thanks Lisa! They are really cozy, I bought a size up than what I normally wear to have to baggier fit.
