Monochrome dressing is quickly becoming my favorite go to looks when I’m in a rush.  I mean it’s so simple anyone can do it and it always looks chic.  Though most people tend to gravitate towards black, I chose to put together a navy monochrome outfit for a fresh take on a classic style.  The reason this works so well is because navy is a neutral and also a darker color like black making it equally as flattering on all body types.  If you want to learn how to put together a monochrome outfit, like this navy look, then keep reading for my tips on rocking a monochromatic look:

1. Start with a base that flatters your figure.  As I’ve said a million times here on Lil Miss JB Style, fit is EVERYTHING when it comes to style.  Just like with any look, you want to pick something that works with our body and makes you not only look but feel amazing.
2. Choose no more than two statement pieces.  Usually most people recommend one statement piece, but when you’re rocking a monochrome look you can actually get away with two.  The key is to be sure that the pieces you choose don’t compete with one another.
3. Add some personal flair.  Give your look some personality by adding functional accessories that also speak to who you are as a person.  Paying attention to this detail is the difference between an outfit that falls flat or one that makes a statement.
