This past weekend I finally got the chance visiting my father and the rest of my family during our 50th annual Brown family reunion in Baltimore.  My uncle, who is a twenty-something at heart, thought it’d be fun to host an “All White” dinner party while serving some classic soul food.  Needless to say it wasn’t the best idea he’s ever had.  Wearing an all white outfit, especially when taking on some good bbq and mac and cheese, can be daunting but it’s not impossible.  Here are some tips to keep in mind when rocking your all white outfit:

  1. Carry a bleach penSERIOUSLY, this can be such a life saver, as I learned this past weekend, for saving your clothes from potential mishaps.
  2. Bring a non-white layer.  Take a jacket or scarf you don’t mind getting a little dirty to sit on or cover your lap while eating.
  3. Remember they’re just clothes.  At the end of the days clothes are meant to be worn and a little stain shouldn’t ruin an otherwise great evening.  There’s always the washer and dryer and worst case a dry cleaner.

White is a fresh color to rock year round that is flattering on a majority of body types.  The next time you’re feeling overwhelmed do a trial run with a white button up or jeans and you’ll quickly see you’ve been worrying over nothing!  See my tips on how to rock all white for beginners.

Comment below and tell me: What do you typically wear to an all white party?
