To be honest I was really hesitant about the return of the slip dress. I always thought that slip dresses for pear shaped women just didn’t exist, that it was a style only for hour glass or slender women. This coming from younger me who grew up surrounded by girls with big boobs which left me a little lacking in the self confidence department. It wasn’t until I re-watched Sex and the City last year that I decided it was time to bite the bullet and just give one a try. I mean really what was the worse thing that could happen? If I didn’t like it, I could always just return it. I was already mentally ready to send the dress back because I was convinced it just wouldn’t look good on me, then I saw how well it fit. Funny isn’t it? How quick we are to write things off before we really even give them a try. Especially when it comes to something as simple as clothing. This is a habit I’m still trying to break myself of. The thought that things aren’t for me. It can be hard, especially when it comes to fashion, because we are always being told by the fashion “gods” what is and isn’t meant for us. But the more I’ve grown in myself I’m learning that everything can be for me and it’s up to me to choose what I want for myself. And I hope that you realize this too! Anyways, I know that shopping for anything as a pear shaped woman can feel so daunting. But seriously why the hell is it so hard? I know a lot of women whose bodies don’t fit the standard mold avoid certain pieces because they assume they won’t fit and dread the thought of going to the tailor. Although honestly a great tailor is something I highly recommend because it truly makes all the difference. Never fear my save my fellow slim thick ladies, I’m here to save you the hassle of having to run from store to store trying on every dress in sight!
