Beat the heat in style with this easy summer outfit!
In the summer we are constantly looking for a way to beat the heat. Some head to the nearest body of water, others grab a refreshingly cool treat, but I reach for a pair of culottes. Paired with a tank top and sandals, it makes a chic yet easy summer outfit. If you’re struggling to create an outfit that keeps you as cool as you look then you need these tips:
- Choose breathable material. This should go without saying but rocking lighter materials is a sure fire way to keep cool. Look for chiffon, linen and similar fabrics.
- Opt for less fitted clothing. Often the thought many have is to wear clothes that cover the least amount of skin. The downside to this strategy is that it doesn’t provide coverage to protect your skin from the unforgiving sun and doesn’t create any breeze when you move.
- Don’t underestimate accessories. Open toed shoes and floppy hats are an easy solution to feeling as cool as you look.
The most important thing to remember is your personal preferences! Don’t compromise your style for the acceptance of others. Wear what you feel the most confident in!

Such a perfect outfit for a humid day! I have similar sandals which a fabulous for adding interest to a minimalist outfit and stay cool! I often reach for similar pieces when it is super hot. In fact, shorts are a no go for me when it is too hot because I cannot tolerate my legs touching when it is that hot!

Thank you so much Shelbee! I totally agree, Birkenstock style sandals are super stylish yet comfortable way to step up a look. I am the same way! I don’t have to coveted thigh gap so shorts and I aren’t friends on hot, humid days.
