Versatility is the key to getting the most mileage out of your wardrobe which ultimately means more money in your pocket.  If you want to maximize what you already own not only is it important to choose garments that are versatile, but learning how to choose garments that work for your body is just as important.  Versatile garments should work not only with your body but other items in your wardrobe, like this cropped sweater.   Picking clothes that work for your body and wardrobe doesn’t have to be guessing game if you keep these tips in mind:

1. Choose a garment that feels good. It seems like common sense, but you want to pick clothes that you like to be in because the material itself makes you feel amazing.  Pass on any item that doesn’t make you feel luxurious, and yes this even goes for your white tees.
2. Pay attention to how it falls on your body.  Many people overlook hemlines which usually results in making the body look inadvertently disproportionate.  Choose items in a length that balances out your frame both vertically and horizontally.
3. Listen to your internal monologue.  If you think an item makes you look bad, then put it back.  Even if it doesn’t actually look bad you’ve already decided it does regardless of what anyone else says so don’t waste your money on something that’s just going to sit in the back of your closet.
4. Make sure it fits.  I don’t just mean make sure the buttons close or the zipper zips, move around and make sure you can perform your daily activities without having to fuss with your clothes.
