Whenever summer breathes its final breath I too feel as though something in me has died a little.  I’m not one of those people who is enamored by fall.  I don’t fall out of my chair at the arrival of pumpkin spiced whatevers and sweater weather.  While I do enjoy the changing of leaves and cider donuts, I dread the change in my wardrobe.  Bulky sweaters, thicker socks bunched into booties wrapping up in a blanket just to walk around my house feels slightly depressing.  Also the fact that Michigan goes from 70 degrees straight down to 40 degrees with no in between doesn’t help either.

In an effort to rebel I decided to create some not so average casual fall outfit inspiration for you.  Most young women are gallivanting around in sweaters, jeans and boots PSL in hand. Now I’m not knocking their style, as you should know this space is all about encouraging you to wear what makes you feel amazing, but I like to wear outfits with a little more pizazz.  Even if I am wearing a sweater, see my chic take on how to wear an oversized sweater this fall.  So this week I wanted to create a chic casual fall outfit for young women who, like me, like to be a bit edgier.  I decided to pair a bold navy suede jacket with a black mechanic style jumpsuit and booties.  A bold jacket is quickly becoming one of my favorite ways to spice up an outfit this fall and the suede gives this look tons of personality.  While everybody seems to be gravitating towards berets and cab boy hats, I can’t help but reach for a classic wide brim in the same shade as my jacket to polish off the look.  By swapping out an on trend accessory for something more classic it also helps to give your look more individuality.  But if there’s a trend you’re really digging by all means rock it.  Again it’s all about wearing what makes you feel confident and amazing!

I’m a big fan of your pairing this blue jacket and hat. It feels fresh, original. You are spot on about the trend of berets. I’m starting to see them everywhere.
